Trillium Health Centre Expansion and Redevelopment Project

The Trillium Health Centre - Mississauga project includes:

  • a new cardiac catheterization lab
  • an operating room for cardiac surgery
  • additional cardiovascular intensive care beds
  • additional coronary care beds
  • an increase of up to 135 inpatient beds for diagnostic and support services

The Trillium Health Centre - West Toronto project includes:

  • expansion of ambulatory surgical care facilities
  • redevelopment and expansion of the Urgent Care Centre
  • creation of a cancer detection and treatment facility
  • creation of healing gardens
  • expansion of a new South entrance

Trillium Health Centre's redevelopment will help to improve health care by increasing cardiac catheterizations by 30 per cent and increasing cardiac surgeries by 20 per cent.  A decentralized patient-care model will allow for more care at the bedside and increased productivity.

New construction will add 196,004 square feet, while 86,156 square feet will be renovated, resulting in 282,160 square feet of total redeveloped space.

Construction is expected to begin in May 2007.
