Features
- A new four-storey inpatient unit (A wing) and a two-storey/three-level patient care wing (H wing)
- Increased capacity for beds to service patients in maternal/child care, complex continuing care, rehabilitation, surgical oncology and palliative care
- Comprehensive women's and children's health services including:
- double the number of labour and delivery rooms, increasing from seven to 15
- two new caesarean-section operating rooms
- expanded services for higher-risk obstetrics
- a new and expanded Special Care Nursery
- increased capacity from 22 to 37 beds in neonatal level two and intensive care units
- an expanded Paediatric Unit to enhance Credit Valley Hospital's role as a Regional Children's Health Centre for South Peel-Halton regions
- new and expanded facilities for paediatric outpatient clinics including paediatric oncology satellite clinic and other sub-specialty programs and services
- New high-dose radiation therapy suite and resources for expanded cancer treatment
- An expanded laboratory from 15,000 to 42,000 square feet, providing more in-house support for diagnostics
Community And Green Benefits
- The new development helps manage current and future patient volumes and decreases patient wait times for surgeries and diagnostics procedures.
- Cancer care services have increased in the region thanks to the redevelopment project.
Economic Benefits
- At the peak of construction, more than 150 construction workers were on site daily.
