About the Project

On behalf of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Infrastructure Ontario undertook the redevelopment of the Dryden Fire Management Centre on existing government owned site at 95 Ghost Lake Road. The project involved:

  • approximately 43,000 square feet of renovations and construction of a 13,000 square foot addition to the existing Main Building;
  • construction of a new 16,000 square foot logistics specialized equipment facility and new 5,000 square foot storage building;
  • demolition of several ancillary storage buildings; and
  • significant site development for improved access and parking.

The project will be staged in order to meet the operational requirements of the site.

  • The site functions as the MNRF Command Centre for North Western Ontario. It is at the leading edge of Ontario’s fire management infrastructure and is essential to protect 90 million hectares of Crown land across Ontario from forest fires.
