    Marketing

    Playing a key role in providing support to the Marketing team the associate will help manage and maintain the customer database and assist with research on current and newly expanded client sectors. This valued team member will also provide assistance to organize conferences, monitor marketing campaigns and develop marketing materials.

    • Research and develop client profiles and marketing collateral
    • Conduct market sector research
    • Assist with website and online application content functionality audits
    • Assist with advertising planning
    • Conduct client research and update contact management

    Requirements:

    This position may be suitable for a 1st or 2nd year student in the marketing or business stream. We are looking for:

    • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Word/PowerPoint/Excel
    • Solid research skills and excellent interpersonal skills
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Some knowledge in desktop publishing applications such as Adobe In-Design, Photoshop and Dreamweaver is an asset
    • Able to work with minimal supervision


    Information Technology

    The associate will work as part of the team to provide hands-on IT technical support and assist with IT initiatives.  Key responsibilities include

    • Responding to budget and cost related questions and concerns from all departments and teams
    • Providing first line IT support, including logging, resolving, escalating and closing calls as appropriate
    • Coordinating IT on-boarding processes for new employees
    • Installing and configuring PC hardware, software, printers, PDA devices and provide basic training to end users
    • Assisting with the research and purchase of equipment and software
    • Liaising with third party suppliers and support companies as required

    Requirements:

    This position may be suitable for a 2nd or 3rd year student working towards a degree in computer science, information technology or related field.  We are looking for

    • Hands-on familiarity with current IT systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, Windows XP/Vista, and Adobe software suite
    • Knowledge of and experience working with basic software and network systems
    • Superior customer service skills and ability to translate technical jargon to regular business language
    • Ability to work without direct supervision and escalate matters and issues when appropriate


    Treasury & Credit Risk

    The Treasury and Risk Management team is tasked with monitoring and controlling corporate-wide risks and financing activities. The associate will provide assistance in multiple activities in support of treasury analytics. Key responsibilities include:

    • Daily interest rate settings
    • Maintenance of financial models and assistance with expansion of the analytics package
    • Enhancement of trading decision making models and tools
    • Loading data, running and reconciling the risk measurement system
    • Conducting hedge effectiveness and convexity analysis of the loan and hedge portfolio
    • Production of monthly risk reports
    • Assistance in the development of user requirements for risk and profit and loss monitoring software systems

    Requirements:

    This position may be suitable for a 3rd or 4th year business student with a focus in finance, risk or management accounting or for a student working towards their MBA.  We are looking for

    • Ability to understand business operations and a strong aptitude for financial concepts and spreadsheet modeling
    • Comfortable working on quantitative tasks
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite


    Communications

    The Communications and Corporate Relations team directs Infrastructure Ontario’s strategic communications, stakeholder and media relations, and issues management.  The associate responsibilities include:

    • Create a database of financial and infrastructure publications and local communities’ newspapers
    • Track and distribute media clips related to Infrastructure Ontario project
    • Assist with media analysis including checking accuracy of key messages and analysing media focus and themes, and misconceptions/concern
    • Assist with planning and coordination of special events and assist with writing communications material for special events
    • Prepare related communications products
    • Assist with managing and organizing web content

    Requirements:

    This position is suitable for a 2nd or 3rd year student who is working towards a bachelor degree in a public relations, communications or journalism, or related field.  We are looking for

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
    • Strong analytical skills and proven ability to analyse and synthesize information
    • Strong computer skills and experience working with relevant software including:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Illustrator and web editing software such as Dreamweaver


    Procurement

    The Procurement team manages the public procurement process and related documentation to ensure competitive, fair and transparent acquisition of goods and services.  Under the guidance and direction of the Procurement team members, the associate will support the procurement and contract management processes for Infrastructure Ontario.  Responsibilities may include

    • Assist in contract related activities (working with templates, populate consulting agreements, organize document flow and follow up)
    • Provide document management support within the procurement group
    • Assist with procurement activities
    • Targeted research of innovative Canadian public procurement practices
    • Various special projects such as maintaining and updating the Intranet site

    Requirements:

    This position may be suitable for a 1st, 2nd or 3rd year law student, or a 2nd or 3rd year social sciences or business student.  We are looking for:

    • Strong research skills and proven ability to analyse and synthesize information

    Legal Services

    The Legal Services group is the hub for the initiation, development, management and execution of legal issues, project agreements and other contractual matters involved in the planning, procurement, negotiation and closing of all Infrastructure Ontario projects.  The associate responsibilities include:

    • Assisting with the on-going management and updating of agreements and procurement documents based on precedent
    • Assisting legal counsel with managing and resolving legal issues related to active negotiations and procurement processes
    • Performing ad hoc analysis, developing presentations, and summaries on legal issues related to Infrastructure Ontario project
    • Working with the project legal team to identify and implement strategies to improve internal processes
    • Conducting research to develop policy positions
    • Preparing educational presentations and reports on Project Legal issues and topics

    Requirements:

    This position may be suitable for a 2nd or 3rd year social sciences, business or law student.  We are looking for:

    • Strong analytical skills and proven ability to analyse and synthesize information
    • Ability to understand business operations and complex concepts

    • Aptitude for interpreting legal documents and the ability to relate legal questions to business


    Project Delivery

    The Summer Associate will work as part of the project delivery team, primarily supporting the project coordinator in managing all aspects involved in the delivery of Alternative Financing and Procurement projects from the transaction phase through to the construction phase.  Responsibilities may include:

    • Assist in due diligence activities of assigned AFP projects
    • Conduct research, analyze trends and a variety of complex data to contribute to project capital planning processes
    • Help analyze project budget, schedule and other project information to prepare presentations for variety of stakeholders
    • Implement appropriate project management practices as required for specific projects
    • Assist in monitoring financial controls of projects
    • Help in evaluating and refining risk for pre-tender inspections

    Requirements:

    • This position is suitable for a student working towards a bachelor degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Project Management, other relevant engineering specialization or working towards a master degree in a relevant discipline
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Experience working on similar assignments is preferred
    • Good understanding of project planning, tendering and implementation would be an asset
