Infrastructure Ontario today announced that three companies have been pre-qualified to design, build and finance the Learning Resource Commons at Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning.

The Learning Resource Commons, an academic support and student services facility, will become the new main entrance of Humber College's North Campus in Etobicoke. The new building will help accommodate more than 2,200 new students and will feature group and independent study space, an expanded library, enhanced student services and a student gallery and showcase.

The Humber College project will proceed under Infrastructure Ontario's Alternative Financing and Procurement model, which transfers risks associated with designing, constructing and financing the building to the private sector.

Based on a request for qualifications process that began in March 2012, three companies were pre-qualified for the project. The three companies are:

Integrated Team Solutions

Developer: Integrated Team Solutions
Design: Canon Design
Construction: EllisDon Corp.
Financial Advisor: EllisDon Inc.

PCL Contractors Canada Inc.

SNC Lavalin Capital

Companies were pre-qualified based on their design and construction capabilities and experience, and their financial capacity to undertake a project of this size and complexity. The three pre-qualified companies will be invited to respond to a request for proposals, expected to be issued later this month.
