Our 24 hour operations centre for day-to-day facility management
The Ontario government is working towards making the Province more accessible for all Ontarians.
Infrastructure Ontario's (IO) role in this initiative focuses on the built environment. Since 2006, a Barrier Free Design Guideline has set the minimum accessibility requirements in the lease, new construction, and extensive renovation of Ontario government facilities. This document meets and exceeds current legislative requirements and serves as a minimum guideline for ministries to follow when undertaking capital projects at Ontario government facilities.
Work is currently underway to revise the 2006 Guideline. The revised document will continue to improve accessibility in the government’s real estate portfolio.
IO is also committed to meeting its other legislated requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, including customer service, information and communications and employment.
