As announced in the 2008 Ontario Budget, the Infrastructure Ontario Loan Program has been expanded to include Housing Providers.

Eligibility
Housing Providers in Ontario that meet the following criteria may apply for an Infrastructure Ontario Loan for capital expenditures:
• Corporations incorporated as local housing corporations pursuant to Part III of the Social Housing Reform Act, 2000, non-profit housing providers and co-operative housing providers that provide or will provide housing under a federally, provincially or municipally funded housing program in Ontario are specified as public bodies for the purposes of paragraph 1 of section 3 of the Act. O. Reg. 220/08, s. 8 (1).
Housing co-operatives funded under federal government programs are not eligible for Infrastructure Ontario financing. For more information on eligibility requirements please see the Program Guidelines.
Eligible Projects
Infrastructure Ontario loans can be used for any capital costs, including:
- Construction or renovation of facilities
- Energy efficiency projects (windows, doors, lighting, appliances etc.)
- Water, hydro, HVAC and communications systems
- Accessibility improvements

Application Process
All housing providers must pre-register for an Infrastructure Ontario loan.
Social Housing applicants must submit their Articles of Incorporation/Letters Patent AND complete a pre-registration form that evaluates the debt service capability of the provider prior to receiving their user id and password. To access the pre-registration form, please click here.
Housing providers who are applying for Affordable Housing Program projects must submit their Articles of Incorporation/Letters Patent AND a Conditional Letter of Commitment from Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing prior to receiving their user name and password.

Clients that have already obtained a username and password can login to the WebLoans Online Application System anytime.
