Project Manager - Rail

This position resides in the Major Projects division that is responsible for managing the planning, design, and construction of a portfolio of major public infrastructure projects, delivered using the Province's Alternative Financing and Procurement (AFP) model.

 

This role would appeal to experienced project managers who seek an opportunity to leave their mark while working on significant and challenging AFP projects. Reporting to a Director, you will manage a project, from the initial due-diligence, Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP) stage through construction, commissioning and to the final transfer of responsibility to operations.

 

Experience with AFP/P3 programs, alongside complex Design-Build-Finance-Maintain construction models is essential.

 

We are looking for professionals who have a university degree in Engineering, Architecture, Commerce, or other relevant discipline combined with a minimum of 8 years of progressive hands-on experience managing major complex ICI, civil, or transit projects in an owner representative or a high-level construction supervisory roles. Strong business acumen, solid experience dealing with project budget, schedule, and technical requirements as well as financial and legal matters, contract management, and commercial considerations pertaining to project planning and implementation are required.

 

To succeed in this role, you must have sound stakeholder management skills and experience finding positive solutions to complex issues with clients and diverse teams of project consultants and specialists. Advanced presentation, consultation, negotiation, influencing and consensus building skills are also required. Experience negotiating claims, scope changes and other compliance and contractual items on major civil projects is desirable.
