Director, Civil Infrastructure

Infrastructure Ontario (IO) is a crown agency whose purpose is to build, manage, finance, and enhance the value of Ontario public assets, including Ontario’s public infrastructure, real estate, and government facilities. As the Director, you will provide strategic advice and technical guidance and expertise to project staff through all stages of a project.  The position guides, leads, manages, and supports project management professionals in managing project issues delivered  under the Alternative Financing and Procurement (AFP) model, within the approved schedule, budget and quality parameters.

 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate hands-on experience managing major complex civil infrastructure projects especially in the LRT, and Rail sector or comparable asset classes, including experience or familiarity with Alternative Financing and Procurement or P3 contracts.  It is expected that you possess experience in effectively managing diverse teams of project consultants and specialists, preferably as a client representative, and a proven ability to find positive solutions to complex multiple-stakeholder issues, including dealing with senior executives, and navigating high-profile, highly sensitive projects.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a Post-secondary college or university education in Engineering or another relevant discipline (e.g. Architecture, Construction Project Management, Law, Business etc.) and a professional engineer or equivalent is preferred. Knowledge and experience in contract administration, project schedules, budgets, technical requirements, change orders and financial matters pertaining to project implementation is essential.

 

We seek an individual with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence people through consultation, negotiation and consensus building.  Excellent analytical skills are required with an ability to integrate program-wide issues and develop solutions.
