Senior Project Manager – Build Finance

This position resides in the Major Projects division that is responsible for managing the planning, design, and construction of a portfolio of major public infrastructure projects, delivered using the Province's Alternative Financing and Procurement (AFP) model.

 

This role would appeal to experienced project managers who seek an opportunity to leave their mark while working on significant and challenging AFP projects. Reporting to a Director, you will assume full responsibility for planning, leading, managing and implementing all aspects of large, complex AFP infrastructure project(s). This includes initial due diligence phase through construction to final close-out, commissioning and transfer of responsibility to operations, on time, on budget and in compliance with quality criteria while continuing to manage relationships with various groups of internal and external stakeholders to mitigate project risks and ensure project objectives are met.

 

It is essential that you have experience in complex construction, AFP/P3 program experience, alongside complex Build-Finance construction models.

 

We are looking for professionals who have a university degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or other relevant discipline combined with a minimum of 10 years' experience as a client representative on large commercial, industrial, institutional, or other complex infrastructure projects. Solid experience dealing with project budget, schedule, and technical requirements as well as financial and legal matters, contract management, and commercial considerations pertaining to project planning and implementation are required.

 

To succeed in this role, you must have sound stakeholder management skills and experience finding positive solutions to complex issues with clients and diverse teams of project consultants and specialists. Advanced presentation, consultation, negotiation, influencing and consensus building skills are also required. Experience negotiating claims, scope changes and other compliance and contractual items on major Social projects is desirable.
