Data Analyst

The Portfolio Research, Analytics & Business Performance team is responsible for generating, analyzing, benchmarking and reporting of the realty based information across the division, IO and government. The team is also responsible for governance within the Division to ensure clear alignment and accountability, which enhances the performance of the business.

 

The Data Analyst provides business intelligence using scientific methods, processes, and systems to extract knowledge or insights from data in various forms (using either structured or unstructured data) to enhance the business performance of the individual business lines within the Real Estate Division. This role will leverage analytics skills (modeling, data structuring, data visualization, and advanced statistics) to identify business inefficiencies and opportunities. Using current and emerging tools (e.g. R, python, BI platforms, SQL, VBA, Excel etc.) this role will make data interactive/usable for client decision making and will leverage industry best practices.

 

The successful incumbent will have 3 years of experience with some experience in analytics modeling/visualization, a Bachelor's degree preferably in computer sciences, mathematics, statistics, economics, data management field, and solid knowledge of R, python, BI platforms, SQL, VBA and Excel.

 

We are looking for an individual with solid knowledge of financial analysis, such as present value, cost benefit, cash flow and payback methodologies. Other qualifications are: knowledge of real estate asset management fundamentals, markets and trends; good knowledge of databases, reporting and business processes; and strong research skills.

You will have good interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build positive relationships and deal effectively with external and internal stakeholders. We are looking for a customer/client focused attitude, collaborative style, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment of evolving organization. The ideal candidate is technically proficient in data management, analytics modeling, and business analytics skills with solid communication skills (verbal and written), and the ability to present complex concepts in a clear, cogent and legible manner.

 

Employment in the Real Estate division is conditional upon obtaining security clearance through the Program & Policy Enablement Branch, Supply Chain Ontario of the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services.
