Real Estate Services Specialist

We are currently looking for a Real Estate Services Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for real estate requests and inquires initiated internally, from our stakeholder Ministry of Infrastructure and our external Service Providers. In this role you will leverage your Real Estate knowledge, problem solving and research and analytical skills in order to fulfill requests routed through IO Service Tracking System.


The Real Estate Services Specialist will also coordinate and implement process improvement projects that align with IO's Corporate objectives on behalf of Asset Management for the Service Integration team and will provide support to the Asset Management team for the Queens Park Retrofit Project.


To succeed in this role, you should have an understanding of building operations, including mechanical, electrical, and other Residential and commercial systems and related codes and regulations, knowledge of lease administration, budget review for operational building management, environmental issues, and public procurement practices an asset, and knowledge on Project Management practices and principles would be an asset.


You will have 5 years' experience in analytical and statistical reporting, experience gathering and documenting business requirements and identifying potential issues and solutions, including 3 years' experience in business process documentation, 5 years' experience in property, building management or land management  either through the transactional end (leases) or operationally (building/property or land management), and it is preferable that you have both experience with strategic outsourcing arrangements in property management or related fields and contract management on a comprehensive portfolio of projects and buildings with single or multiple service providers.


The Specialist is required to have the ability to synthesize and present well researched information in a clear and concise manner, coupled by strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation/negotiation skills with the ability to influence others, and excellent written communication skills.  Also, a high proficiency working with Microsoft Office suite of products, specifically an exceptional ability to work with Excel is needed.


Employment in the Real Estate Division is conditional upon obtaining security clearance through the Program & Policy Enablement Branch, Supply Chain Ontario of the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services.
