Infrastructure Ontario (IO) continues to support municipalities and other eligible public sector partners in their work to improve the quality of life in their communities by providing affordable, long-term financing for infrastructure development and renewal.

IO has entered into new commitments to provide financing through its  Loan Program to four eligible organizations.

The eligible organizations are:

  • The City of Kingston, for the Kingston East community centre, third crossing of the Cataraqui river bridge, recreational pathways and trails, road works and a fleet garage - $56,932,250 loan
  • Regional Municipality of Niagara, for clean water and wastewater infrastructure, recreation, GO Transit, roads and bridges, and long-term care redevelopment projects - $54,439,409 loan
  • Township of Rideau Lakes, for road equipment and road resurfacing - $970,165 loan
  • Township of Tudor and Cashel, for a tandem truck - $267,990 loan

With more than 440 public-sector clients, the Loan Program has helped finance various types of infrastructure projects such as the construction of roads, bridges, arena complexes and long-term care homes, and the acquisition and installation of capital assets like fire trucks and energy-efficient lighting.

Modern and efficient public infrastructure is critical for building a strong economy, prosperous communities and creating jobs.
