Ontario is investing in the development of the Grandview Children’s Centre in Ajax. The new building will reduce wait times, make services easier to access, and improve the range of rehabilitation services for children and youth with special needs in the Durham region and surrounding areas.
Children First Consortium has been selected as the preferred proponent to design, build and finance the Grandview Children’s Centre Redevelopment project.
Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Grandview Kids selected Children First Consortium after extensive evaluations following an open, fair and competitive request for proposals process that began in May 2021. The Children First Consortium team includes:
- Applicant Lead: Amico Design Build Inc., Sacyr Construction S.A
- Design Team: Parkin Architects, H.H. Angus and Associated Limited
- Construction Team: Amico Design Build Inc., Sacyr Construction S.A
- Financial Advisor: Stonebridge Financial Corporation
IO and Grandview Kids will now work to finalize contract details with Children First Consortium. The project is expected to reach financial close in the coming weeks, which will mean that relevant contracts have been signed and a financing rate has been set. The contract cost will be announced publicly following financial close and construction is scheduled to begin shortly thereafter.
