TORONTO - Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Hôpital Montfort, have issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) for interested parties to build and finance the Orléans Health Hub (previously known as Orléans Family Health Hub).

The Orléans Health Hub project involves the construction of an all-new centre at the corner of Mer-Bleue Road and Brian Coburn Boulevard. The Hub will bring together several health and community service partner organizations to respond to client needs within a comprehensive service delivery model of care. Services provided will include:

  • A needs-based ambulatory program
  • Diagnostic imaging
  • Geriatric support and wellness
  • Mental health and wellness
  • Active rehabilitation

Once complete, residents of the greater Orléans area, from newborns to seniors, will have access to integrated programs close to home, focused on their needs and offered in both official languages.

The request for qualifications is the first step in the procurement process to select a company to build and finance the project. IO and Hôpital Montfort will evaluate submissions to prequalify companies with the construction experience and financial capacity to deliver a project of this scope and complexity. Companies that prequalify will be invited to respond to a request for proposals in summer 2018. Interested companies must register with merx.com to download the RFQ.

IO and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care are working with Hôpital Montfort to procure and deliver the facility, which will be publicly owned, controlled and accountable.

Improving access to healthcare is part of Ontario's plan to create fairness and opportunity during this period of rapid economic change. The plan includes a higher minimum wage and better working conditions, free tuition for hundreds of thousands of students, easier access to affordable child care, and free prescription drugs for everyone under 25 through the biggest expansion of medicare in a generation.
