Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and William Osler Health System (Osler) have issued a Request For Qualifications (RFQ) for the new Peel Memorial Hospital Phase 2 Redevelopment project. The project will be delivered through IO’s Progressive Design-Build (Target Price) contract model.

The new Peel Memorial Hospital will increase health care capacity in the community and address the significant need for more specialized care for patients requiring longer hospital stays before they can safely return home or to additional care in the community. Providing beds for longer term hospital stays at Peel Memorial will help create more space for very sick patients at Brampton Civic Hospital. Peel Memorial Phase 2 will create more services for our fast-growing communities, supporting a robust and accessible local health system.

The project will encompass specialized care to patients, including older adults living with dementia through an innovative emotion-based model of care. It will also include an Emergency Care Centre to serve the fast-growing community.

The RFQ is the first step in the process to select a team to help deliver the project. Submissions will be reviewed to shortlist teams with the required design and construction experience. Shortlisted teams will then be invited to respond to a Request For Proposals, which is expected to be released in fall 2024. Interested companies must register on merx.com to download the RFQ.
