Our Development business line works with private-sector partners to develop new Transit-oriented Communities (TOCs) along major transit corridors in the Greater Toronto Area.

Comprised of higher density, mixed-use development connected to, adjacent to, or within a short walk of transit stations, these communities will bring more housing and jobs closer to transit, reduce traffic congestion, and make commuting faster and easier.

Further, our Development team provides commercial advice and negotiation support to the government and public sector partners regarding major land developments, such as the redevelopment of Ontario Place.

Development also administers the Surplus Lands Program, which offers surplus government lands that have been identified for disposition for the construction of new long-term care facilities.
