Transit-Oriented Communities (TOC)

People walking and biking in a green open space surrounded by tall modern towers
The development proposal for the Cooksville TOC will connect Cooksville GO Station and the future Hazel McCallion LRT in Mississauga. The TOC proposal includes a retail plaza, residential units and pedestrian-friendly public space at street level in the neighborhood. Conceptual only and subject to revision.

In the largest program of its kind in Canada, we are creating vibrant, mixed-use, walkable communities with tens of thousands of new homes, increasing transit ridership, reducing traffic and stimulating the economy.

The TOC program spans the four priority subway projects, as well as GO Transit lines and Light Rail Transit (LRT) lines in the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area (GTHA).

This is on par or exceeds the development of other TOC programs worldwide, such as London, Paris and Sydney.

Visit our TOC projects page for more information on TOCs, including a full list of project sites and provincial goals.
