Lakeridge Health – Bowmanville Hospital Redevelopment Project

• Modern patient-centred design, including private rooms and bariatric rooms
• A rooftop helipad to enable rapid access to emergency services
• Level 3 Critical Care capacity, the highest level of care provided in hospitals for patients who are critically ill or injured
• Ambulatory care centre 
• Haemodialysis centre
• A new parking garage supporting more convenient access for patients, visitors, staff and volunteers

The new design will incorporate additional green space, enhancing the overall well-being of patients, visitors, and the community.

• The Bowmanville Hospital Redevelopment Project is being delivered using a Design-Build-Finance (DBF) model. Key benefits of a DBF model include significant risk transfer to the private sector over the life of the project agreement, greater cost and schedule certainty and greater potential for design and construction efficiencies and innovation. 
• Based on precedent project experience, a DBF procurement model typically has delivered a value for money savings in the range of 10% to 15% compared to undertaking the same projects using traditional delivery models.
