About the Project
Infrastructure Ontario (IO), with the Ministry of Infrastructure (MOI), is leading the Transit-Oriented Communities Program as it relates to the “New Subway Transit Plan for the GTA,” and GO/LRT sites as part of the government’s plan to build new, sustainable transit. The Transit-Oriented Communities (TOC) approach provides real opportunities to build vibrant, mixed-use communities that are connected to transit stations.
IO, on behalf of the province, is working with the City of Toronto to explore the possibility of building a TOC near the future Martin Grove Station.
The Martin Grove TOC site consists of a parcel of land that is being explored for its ability to contribute to the stated objectives of the TOC Program.
The proposed Martin Grove TOC site has the potential to deliver new housing, employment opportunities, and publicly accessible areas that will support the creation of a community that has public spaces for relaxation and play next to the Martin Grove Station along the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension (ECWE).
Community input is key in helping shape the TOC proposal near the Martin Grove Station. Engagement with the City of Toronto began in January 2023, and is ongoing, while community engagement is anticipated to take place in 2026, following the City of Toronto’s planning review of the development concept.
