About the Project
North York General Hospital (NYGH) is located in the Don Valley North neighbourhood of Toronto. This redevelopment project involves the delivery of a new patient care tower, which will increase inpatient capacity and create additional space for NYGH’s highest acuity services, to better serve the growing and diverse communities in North York. This will be the largest redevelopment and expansion of services since the hospital was founded in 1968.
Once complete, the new tower will include eleven new floors of patient care spaces, and two levels of underground parking. The new tower will connect to NYGH’s existing building on six levels to enable flow of patients, staff, and materials, ensuring a high level of integration between new and existing facilities. The new tower will house up to 317 private patient bedrooms, expanding NYGH’s inpatient capacity by approximately 100 net-new beds.
