Community And Green Benefits

Oak Valley Health serves residents of the south‐east York and west Durham regions with hospital-based services provided by the Uxbridge and Markham Stouffville Hospitals. Originally opened in 1959, Uxbridge Hospital is currently a 20-bed community hospital offering diagnostic and emergency services to people living in the community. In 2004, the Markham Stouffville Hospital welcomed the Uxbridge Hospital as a partner site to offer care to the extended community. This has helped ensure the best care for people living in Uxbridge and surrounding areas.

Demonstrating Value

The Oak Valley Health - Uxbridge Redevelopment Project is being delivered using a Design-Bid-Build (DBB) model. Key features of a DBB model include increased owner control over the project design, as well as a high level of flexibility to respond to changing conditions and concerns.
