About the Project

Infrastructure Ontario, on behalf of the Ministry of Infrastructure launched the first competitive process of its kind in Canada to select a qualified Satellite Internet Service Provider (Satellite ISP) to deliver satellite internet service to the province. In November 2024, the ministry announced a partnership with SpaceX to deliver this service.

In March 2025, the Government of Ontario announced it is no longer partnering with Starlink to deliver the ONSAT program. We will continue to explore all viable options and technologies, including fibre, fixed wireless and satellite.
