About the Project:

GO Rail Expansion will transform the transportation network in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area over the next decade. Metrolinx will transform the GO Transit rail network into a system that will deliver two-way, all-day service every 15 minutes over core segments of the GO Rail network. System-wide infrastructure upgrades will include: adding tracks, expanding stations, electrification of the rail network, new locomotives and train control systems to enable more frequent service.

Scope of work includes:

Milton GO Station

  • Upgrades to station building
  • Upgrade & reconfiguration of the existing north parking lot layout and passenger pick-up/drop-offs
  • Reconfiguration of parking lot layouts, bus loops, and passenger pick-up/drop-offs
  • Accessible connections to train and bus platforms
  • Upgrade of existing rail platform and infrastructure to support future layover of trains
  • New south parking lot with additional parking spaces, passenger pick-up/drop-offs, and tunnel to connect to the existing rail platform
  • Upgrade of parking lot and additional parking spaces
  • Improved pedestrian connections and bicycle storage
  • Urbanization and widening of Nipissing Road and upgrades to Childs Drive

Station Operations West Facility

  • Provide a Station Operations West Facility to accommodate future office, warehouse and parking needs for GO operations
  • New secured fleet vehicle parking lot
