Infrastructure Ontario, on behalf of Metrolinx, announced AirLINX Transit Partners is the preferred bidder for the Air Rail Link extension project.  AirLINX Transit Partners was selected following a competitive request for proposals process, which began in March 2011, with companies from all over Canada and the world.

AirLINX Transit Partners is a consortium of some of Canada's most well respected construction companies including:

  • Aecon Construction and Materials Ltd. 
  • Dufferin Construction Company  

Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx will begin negotiations with AirLINX Transit Partners to finalize contract details, including the project cost and completion dates. Construction of the Air Rail Link extension is expected to begin in spring 2012. 

Once negotiations are complete, Infrastructure Ontario will announce the project cost publicly and post a copy of the contract agreement to its website at www.infrastructureontario.ca

Design and construction of the Air Rail Link line will create and sustain jobs across the local Greater Toronto Area, particularly for skilled workers, engineers, and project managers.
