About the Project

  • A new four-storey inpatient unit (A wing) and a two-storey/three-level patient care wing (H wing) 
  • Increased capacity for beds to service patients in maternal/child care, complex continuing care, rehabilitation, surgical oncology and palliative care 
  • Comprehensive women's and children's health services including: 
    • double the number of labour and delivery rooms, increasing from seven to 15
    • two new caesarean-section operating rooms
    • expanded services for higher-risk obstetrics
    • a new and expanded Special Care Nursery
    • increased capacity from 22 to 37 beds in neonatal level two and intensive care units
    • an expanded Paediatric Unit to enhance Credit Valley Hospital's role as a Regional Children's Health Centre for South Peel-Halton regions 
    • new and expanded facilities for paediatric outpatient clinics including paediatric oncology satellite clinic and other sub-specialty programs and services
  • New high-dose radiation therapy suite and resources for expanded cancer treatment
  • An expanded laboratory from 15,000 to 42,000 square feet, providing more in-house support for diagnostics

Community And Green Benefits

  • The new development helps manage current and future patient volumes and decreases patient wait times for surgeries and diagnostics procedures.
  • Cancer care services have increased in the region thanks to the redevelopment project.

Economic Benefits

  • At the peak of construction, more than 150 construction workers were on site daily.
