About the Project

Infrastructure Ontario, on behalf of the Ministry of Infrastructure, has launched the first competitive process of its kind in Canada, which is intended to select a qualified Satellite Internet Service Provider (Satellite ISP) to deliver satellite internet service to the province. This will support improved access to high-speed internet via satellite service to unserved and underserved homes and businesses across Ontario.

The intention of the satellite program is to provide high-speed internet access to homes and businesses where it is not viable to provide fiber optic or fixed wireless connections.
